To prepare for visa interview be something wey you suppose take very serious. You must apply for visa on time. And den come gather all de necessary documents wey you need.

Dis na de most important documents wey you must carry go ya visa interview:

• Current international passport
• Photo copy of ya visa application form(s)
• Copy of ya transcript(s)
• Letter of admission, scholarship letter, Letter from supervisor (if you be graduate student)
• I-20 form (de skool go give you dis one)
• SEVIS receipt (you go pay for dis one)
• Document(s) to show say you get enough money to pay for ya skool fees and oda tins (bank account statements)
• All de original of ya exam results
• Get letter from de person wey go sponsor you for skool

If de embassy ask you to bring any oda documents wey I no write, make sure say you carry am go dia. Embassy people no wan hia any story. When dem ask you any question, answer am exactly de way dem ask you. No begin add extra yans inside. If dem ask you wetin you wan go do for dem country, just tell dem say na skool you dey go, de skool name and de course you wan go read, FULL STOP! When you begin add extra, na suspect dem go begin suspect you. Make sure you know exactly de document wey de visa officer ask you to show am. No begin fumble with dat one or begin give de visa officer wetin him no ask you. De officer go ask you how you go pay for ya skool, make sure you get ya answer and documents (like bank statements and scholarship letter) ready.

Raise ya head, look de person for eye. Try to no stammer when you dey talk and no begin beg dem like say ya life depend on de visa. If you do dat one, na DENIAL wey you go get. Dem wan see ya confidence. And if dem ask you wetin you go wan do after ya skool, tell dem say you dey come back Naija to work. No ever tell dem say you wan settle for dem country oo!! What if you no come succeed to get visa? Make dat one no too worry you. I go US embassy three times before I get my visa. First tin you need to do if you no succeed na to contact de skool and tell dem. Den ask dem to defer ya admission for at least one semester. But ee go beta if you defer for anoda year. Dis one go give you enough time to update ya documents like admission letter and bank statement wey you need to go embassy de next time. Den go back review all de tins wey you tink say you do wrong for de first interview. Den try to find de correct way to go about ya interview again. Like I write earlier, you no need to just give up sake of say you no get visa de first time. You just need to arrange ya sef den try again.
